Wilson Eugene Medlin

Wilson Eugene Medlin, 69, of Statesville, passed away, Thursday, October 22, 2015 at the Gordon Hospice House. Mr. Medlin was born September 21, 1946 in Gastonia, NC and was the son of the late Wilson and Louise Huggins Medlin. He attended Gastonia City Schools and on May 30, 1987, married Susan Medlin, who survives of the home. He was a member of Charis Community Church and was a retired plumber. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and his beloved dog, Lacey. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a step-daughter, Beth Underwood (Duane) of Statesville, a daughter, Rose Barnhill (Tommy) of Conway, SC, a son, Ralph Medlin of Gastonia, NC, two sisters, Cynthia Cope (Keith) of Union Grove, SC, Jan Treadway (Ray) of Dallas, NC, a brother-in-law, Rev. Tim Campbell (Brenda) of Burnsville, NC; seven grandchildren, Zac, Katie and Emily Underwood, Ashley Shifrin, Cassie and TJ Medlin, James Grigg and five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Angie Medlin, a son, David Medlin, a daughter, Shawna Medlin, two sisters, Carol Dockery, Kay Watts, a brother, Jeff Medlin and a great grandson, Jason Medlin. Funeral services will be conducted 12:00 p.m. Saturday, October 24, 2015 at Charis Community Church with Pastor Michael Benfield officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 10:00-12:00 p.m. at the church.
