Willie Ruth Ledbetter

Mrs. Willie Ruth Hatley Ledbetter, 91, of Statesville, died Thursday at Autumn Care Of Statesville. Born in Cleveland County on December 24, 1924, she was a daughter of the late William Travis Hatley and Nancy Edna Alice Clemmer Hatley. Willie was an active member of Mt. Hermon Lutheran Church and loved singing, reading and cooking. She was a high school athlete and scholar. She retired from the textile industry. Survivors include sons, Don Ledbetter (Amanda), Wayne Ledbetter (JoAnne), and Carroll Ledbetter (Pat) and a daughter, Nancy Philbeck (Chuck),all of Statesville, 11 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Funeral services are scheduled for 4:00 P.M. Sunday at Mt. Hermon Lutheran Church with Pastor Thomas Corbell and Seminarian Will Dulin officiating. The family will receive friends in the new fellowship hall of the church from 2:45 to 3:45 P.M. prior to the service. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
