William Talmadge Moore

William Talmadge Moore, 91, of Statesville, passed away Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at the Gordon Hospice House. He was born in Wilkes County on March 18, 1927 to the late Shirley and Annie Speaks Moore.



Mr. Moore attended Iredell County Schools and was married on April 25, 1943 to Elizabeth Stroud Moore who preceded him in death on October 26, 2011. They shared over 58 years of marriage before her passing. He worked as a metal fabricator most of his career.



Along with his parents and wife, Elizabeth, he was preceded in death by a son, Calvin Ray Moore; a grandson James Morrow; a brother, Leonard Moore; and a sister, Thelma Haneline.



Left to cherish his memory are his son, Wayne Moore (Brenda); two granddaughters, Crystal Moore and Angela Moore; a grandson, C. Michael Moore (Lauren); a sister, Lois Smith; a daughter-in-law Debbie Moore Cowan and various nieces and nephews.



Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Monday, September 10, 2018 at Clarksbury United Methodist Church with Rev. Cliff Wall officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will visit with friends in the Fellowship Hall following the graveside portion of the service.
