William Porter Morrison

William Porter Morrison, 99, of Statesville, died Friday, March 29, 2019 at the Gordon Hospice House. He was born November 8, 1919 in Iredell County to the late Blake Lee Morrison, Sr. and Lula Valdora "Valley" Hux Morrison. He was also preceded in death by 3 brothers; Louis, Blake Lee, Jr and John Osborne Morrison and 3 sisters; Louise M. Brown, Laura M. Trivette and Phyllis M. Reep.

Mr. Morrison attended Mulberry School and graduated from D. Matt Thompson School, was retired from McNeer Dillon, and was a long-time member of Oakland Presbyterian Church. He was loved by all who knew him.

Survivors include a brother; Robert Morrison and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mr. Morrison will be held Monday, April 1, 2109 at 2:00pm at the Chapel at Nicholson Funeral Home. The family will visit with friends from 1:00 to 2:00 prior to the service. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.
