William Clyde Shew

Mr. William Clyde Shew, 77, of Statesville, died Monday April 24, 2017 at the Gordon Hospice House. Born in Iredell County on December 3, 1939, he was a son of the late Richard Shew and Lila Reeves Shew. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Martha Moose Shew and two brothers, Allen Richard Shew and Raymond Lee Shew. Mr. Shew was retired as a supervisor from Thomasville Furniture Company, formerly Gilliam Furniture Company. He was a very active man selling produce, being an avid gardener working part time at 49er Concepts, fishing, going to the beach, and watching NASCAR racing and the Atlanta Braves. He also upholstered furniture on the side. Survivors include two daughters, Debbie Patton of Statesville and Donna Josey (Ernie) of Troutman. Also surviving is a brother, Roger Dale Shew (Sissy) of Statesville and grandchildren: Brandon Brown, Adam Patton, James Josey, and Zachary Patton, and great grandchildren: Baylee Patton, Adelei Patton, Payton Taylor, Jacklyn Murphy, Kimmie Murphy and Tanner Patton. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 A.M. Thursday, April 27, 2017 at the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Sam Jordan officiating. Pallbearers will be: Tim Shew, Adam Patton, Zachary Patton, James Josey, David Morgan, Brian Boan, Garrett Drescher, Wesley Shew and Brandon Brown. Burial will follow at Iredell Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 prior to the service. Condolences may be sent online to the family to www.nicholsonfunerals.com.
