William "Bill" Jack Francis

William "Bill" Jack Francis, 72, of Statesville, passed away Thursday, July 21, 2016 at his residence. He was born in Mecklenburg County on August 30, 1943 to the late Jack and Kitty Porter Francis. Bill was a graduate of South Mecklenburg High School and NC State University. He was married to Susan Thomas Francis, who survives. Bill had been self-employed with his father in the packaging manufacturing industry. He had a passion for model airplanes, building and flying many of them. He was past president of the local model airplane flying club. No funeral services are planned at this time.
