Willard Mansfield Dishmond

Willard Mansfield Dishmond, 77, of Statesville, died Saturday, October 13, 2018 at his home. Born in Wilkes County on March 5, 1941, he was a son of the late Leonard Lee Dishmond and Esther Hendren Dishmond. On July 4,1981 he married the former Sylvia Williams who survives.



He was disability retired from International Paper and loved hunting, fishing and being outdoors. He attended Union Grove High School and was a member of Taylor Springs Baptist Church.



In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Gurney and L.P. Dishmond and two sisters, Arlene Lambert and Neloree Williams



Survivors include a sister, Irene Dishmond York of Olin, a brother-in-law. Joe York, of Olin, a sister-in-law, Patricia Dishmond of Statesville and a brother-in-law, Steven Williams of Union Grove. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. Additional survivors include special friends Co and Rena Cooper.



Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 Tuesday at Taylor Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Gwaltney and Rev. Carl Williams officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will greet friends following the committal.
