Wayne Huie

Mr. Wayne Williamson Huie, 72, of Union Grove, NC, passed away Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at his son's home. Mr. Huie was born October 2, 1939 in Iredell County and was the son of the late Hoyte Hackney and Sarah Crater Huie. He was a graduate of Union Grove High School and on May 20, 1961 he marrie Ersula "Sue" Mae Kennedy, who preceded him in death on April 16, 2003. Mr. Huie was retired from G & M Sales where he worked installing poultry equipment. In addition to his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Gale Huie. Mr. Huie is survived by one son, Deward Wayne Huie (Teresa) of Union Grove, one daughter, Tally Thomas (Chuck) of Concord, N.C., one grandson, Seth Thomas and one granddaughter, Logan Thomas, both of Concord. He is also survived by two step-grandchildren, Benjamin Colvert of Statesville and Bridgett Morrison (Steven) of Salisbury. Mr. Huie is further survived by one brother, Horace Huie (Emily) of Olin, three sisters, Sue Johnson (Luther), Lucree Nicholson and Charlotte Redmon, all of Statesville and one sister-in-law, Janet Huie of Hamptonville. A memorial service will be conducted at 7:00 pm Friday evening in the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel. The family will visit with friends from 5:30 until 7:00 at the funeral home.
