KERNERSVILLE-Mr. Wayne Franklin Bowman, 63, of Kernersville, NC passed away August 15, 2021 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Wayne was born March 7, 1958 to the late Bill Franklin and Pauline Johnson Bowman and in 1978 married Linda Gail Hawkins. Wayne was employed by Douglas Battery as a grid casting operator for over 35 years. In his spare time he enjoyed watching football (especially the Carolina Panthers), going fishing, watching NASCAR racing, working in his lawn, and working on cars. In addition to his parents, Mr. Bowman is preceded in death by a brother James "Jimmy" Bowman and sister Brenda Ann Anderson. Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife of 43 years Linda Hawkins Bowman of Kernersville, daughter Jessica Bowman Lethco (Travis) of Wallburg, son Joshua William Bowman (Amber) of Wallburg, sister Billie Bowling (Connie) of Winston-Salem, three grandchildren Brayden Lethco, Hannah Lethco, and one on the way, nieces Shannon Welborn (Mike), Jennifer Trombley (Wayne), Ashley Stevens (Chad), Amanda Osborne (Abraham), nephews Nicholas Anderson and Brian Anderson, and numerous great nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life memorial service for Mr. Bowman is scheduled for 2:00 pm Saturday August 21, 2021 at Oaklawn Baptist Church, 3500 Kernersville Road, Kernersville, NC. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Flowers are welcomed and should be delivered to the church on the day of the service. Additionally, those wishing to make memorial contributions may do so to Oaklawn Baptist Church or to Nehemiah's Few in care of Triad Baptist Church, 1175 S. Main Street, Kernersville, NC 27284.
