Wanda Gail Bangert

Mrs. Wanda Gail McCoy Bangert, 78, of Statesville, went to her Heavenly Home Saturday, February 12, 2022, at Davis Regional Medical Center following a recent illness.

Mrs. Bangert was born June 23, 1943, in Horsecreek, WV and was the daughter of the late Oscar McCoy, Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Muncy McCoy.

She attended school at High Knob on Coonbranch Mountain.She was a retired tool maker for Parker Hannifin of Mooresville, NC.

Wanda was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to all who knew her. She was a kind person and friend to so many, she was so very loved and will be missed by all who knew her.

On April 10, 1963, in Iaeger, WV she was married to Jon Dane Bangert who preceded her in death on April 11, 2010. Also preceding her in death was her beloved son Brian Dane Bangert on May 7, 2019. She was preceded in death by five brothers and one sister: Oscar McCoy, Jr., Vivian "Pat" McCoy, Frank McCoy, Otis McCoy, Ronnie McCoy, and Lucille Coleman all of Iaeger, WV. Also preceding her was two brothers-in-law and one sister-in-law: Troy Coleman, Richard Auville, and Ruby McCoy all of Iaeger, WV.

Mrs. Bangert is survived by two daughters: Mary B. "Katie" Love and fianc Lyle Crouder of Statesville and Patricia B. Campbell and husband Darren of Statesville. Two granddaughters: Katlin Bangert and partner Whitney Blair of Millers Creek, Ashton B. Campbell and partner Alex Weatherman of Troutman. One great grandchild, Brennan Byrd, of Millers Creek. One brother and two sisters: Carl McCoy of Welch, WV, Orethea Shrader of Denver, NC, and Linda Auville of Iaeger, WV. Four sisters-in-law: Joyce McCoy of Bluefield, WV, Irma McCoy of Iaeger, WV, Sue McCoy of Iaeger, WV, and Fannie McCoy of Bradshaw, WV. Multiple nieces and nephews that she loved so dearly. One special niece, Rhonda Samp and husband Mike and family of Lewiston, MI. Special friends: Cheryl W. Estep of North Wilkesboro and Don & Donna Baker of Claypool Hill, WV Also, her good friends Charlie and Shirley that meant so much to her.

No services will be conducted locally, and burial will be in the McCoy Family Cemetery on Coonbranch Mountain in Iaeger, WV at a later date.
