Walter Allen Anderson

Mr. Walter Allen Anderson, 70, of Statesville, passed away, Monday, February 5, 2018 at the Gordon Hospice House.



Mr. Anderson was born April 4, 1947 in Iredell County and was the son of the late Clyde and Louise Mencer Anderson. He was a graduate of Wayside School and served in the US Army from 1965-1967. He was married to the late, Gloria Kimbell Anderson, who passed away in 2012. He was a devoted member of Elmwood United Methodist Church and was a self-employed diesel mechanic and farmer.



He is survived by a niece, Julie Anderson of Taylorsville; her children, Curtis Lyons of Troutman, Skyler Lyons of Taylorsville, Brittany Lyons of Newton, Blake Lyons of Troutman along with several cousins and many friends.



Funeral services will be conducted 2:30 p.m. Friday, February 9, 2018 in the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Debbie Connelly officiating. Burial will follow in the Iredell Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will visit with friends on Friday from 1:00-2:30 pm at Nicholson Funeral Home.
