Virginia Troutman

Virginia Marlow Gantt Troutman, 87, of Statesville, passed away Tuesday, October 22, 2013, at Iredell Memorial Hospital following a lengthy illness. Mrs. Troutman was born February 1, 1926 in Iredell County and was the daughter of the late Jesse Franklin and Mamie Lloyd Marlow. She was a graduate of Harmony High School and she was first married to Lynn Rupert Gantt, who preceded her in death and later married Fred Shelton Troutman, who also preceded her in death. Mrs. Troutman was a lifelong member of St. John's Lutheran Church and she retired from Adams Sporting Goods where she worked as an accountant. In addition to her parents, first husband, Lynn R. Gantt and her second husband, Fred S. Troutman, she was preceded in death by one son, Michael Dean Gantt and one sister, Grace Fern Horn. She is survived by one daughter, Wanda Gantt Redmond (Don) of Hardy, VA along with three sons, Lynn Wayne Gantt (Nellie) of Yorktown, VA, Mark Anthony Gantt (Sandra) of Olin, NC, and Shannon Lee Gantt (Kathryn) of Statesville. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, John Gantt, Lynn Gantt, Aaron Redmond, Jennifer Van Dyke, Kelly Hutchinson, Joshua Gantt, Jayden Gantt, Jarrod Gantt, and Jacob Gantt and one brother, Dwight Marlow of Harmony. She is further survived by seven great-grandchildren. Funeral services for Mrs. Troutman will be conducted 2:00 pm Saturday, October 26, at St. John's Lutheran Church with Rev. Ernie Sheldon officiating. The family will visit with friends from 1:00 until 2:00 pm at the church. Burial will follow in the Iredell Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
