Virginia Parker Stradley

February 15, 1931 — February 28, 2019

Virginia Parker Stradley, of Statesville, passed away Thursday, February 28, 2019, surrounded by her family. Mrs. Stradley was born February 15, 1931, in Iredell County and was the daughter of the late Alonza Burton Parker and Bessie Rogers Parker.



She was married to the love of her life, James Oscar Stradley on June 1, 1957. He preceded her in death on November 23, 1993. She was also preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Roger Burton Parker, Sr., a beloved nephew, Roger Burton Parker, Jr. and her precious dog and companion, Prissy.



Ginnie, as she was affectionally called by her family, is survived by her two devoted sisters, Louise Parker Wingate and her husband, Cliff of Salisbury and Jean Parker Brawley of Rutherfordton. Also surviving are nieces and nephews: Beverly West and husband, Lee, Belinda Brawley, Stephen Brawley, Pam and PJ McCann, along with great nieces and nephews: Jonathan West, Brittany West, Amanda Bowan, Timothy McCann and Emily Smith. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Sue Stradley Moore, Phyliss Stradley Travis and husband, Percy, Barbara Beam Stradley, nieces and nephews, Patricia Loudermilt, Philip Travis, David Stradley and Jeff and Kelly Phillips. Also a beloved care giver, Chloe Sigmon.



Ginnie was retired after 38 years at the receptionist for Drs. Jack and Ronnie Milam. She was a member of First A.R.P. Church.



Services celebrating Ginnie's life will be conducted Saturday, March 2, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. at First A.R.P. Church with Rev. Phil McCoy officiating. The family will greet friends following the service in the church parlor. A private burial will precede the service in the New Perth A.R.P. Church Cemetery.
