Virginia Lee Fain Dalton Potter, 81, of Statesville, formally of Roderfield, WV, passed away Friday, July 6, 2018 at the Gordon Hospice House after a long illness. She was born on April 25, 1937 in McDowell County to the late Hubert and Lorene Young Dalton.
Virginia attended Welch High School in West Virginia. She was first married to Samuel Fain who preceded her in death and 2nd husband Thomas Eugene Potter, who preceded her in death in 2011. Virginia worked in textile most of her career as a sewer and after retirement she worked in the Tea Room at Iredell Memorial Hospital. She attended First ARP Church in Statesville.
Along with her parents and husbands, Samuel and Eugene, she was preceded in death by three sons, Kirby Dean, Leonard Dewayne, and Samuel Kenneth Fain; two brothers, Doug and Carl Dalton; sister, Rhonda Sue Sweeney; and two grandsons, Michael Jeremy Fain and Mark Allen Stone.
Left to cherish her memory are her son, Michael Fain (Alice); three daughters, Diane Ratliff (Tommy), Kim Lester (Clarence), and Crystal Yount (Harold); eleven grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 am Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at First ARP Church with Rev. Phil McCoy officiating. The family will visit with friends following the service. A private family burial will be held prior in Oakwood Cemetery
