Violet Mills Rupard

Mrs. Violet Mills Rupard, 82, of Advance passed away unexpectedly Monday, Aug. 15, 2011 at Iredell Memorial Hospital. Born Oct. 29, 1928 in Iredell County, she was the daughter of Quince and Arizonia Privette. She was educated at Cool Springs School and worked many years in textiles. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Mills and son, Robert Lee Mills, and two bothers, Jay & Jerry Privette. Survivors include sons & daughters Eugene Mills (Sheryl) and Linda Niemann (Donnie), of Statesville, and Wayne Mills & Betty Baker (Robert) of Advance, nine grandchildren, Lori Jones, Rhonda Christopher, Crystal Knight, Keith Baker, Tiffany Lundy, Brandon Mills, Katie Mills, Kenny Mills, Tammy Mills, Bradley Mills, and eight great grandchildren. She is further survived by four brothers, Hubert, Junior, Ray, Conard Privette, and sister Doris Mitchell. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 pm on Saturday, Aug. 20 at Trinity Baptist Church, 2722 US Hwy. 601 South, Mocksville 27028. Family will receive friends at the church from 1 to 2:30 pm. Burial will follow in Iredell Memorial Gardens. The family will meet at the home of Linda Niemann. Her love of Christ was evidenced by God's gift to her as a care-giver. Through it all "She loved". Memorials can be given to Trinity Baptist Church. Nicholson Funeral Home is assisting the family.
