Trudy Chapman Rhyne

Mrs. Trudy Chapman Rhyne, 58, of Statesville, passed away unexpectedly, Monday, June 19, 2017 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC following a sudden illness. Trudy was born December 10, 1958 in Iredell County and was the daughter of Tommy Ray Chapman, Sr. (Janet) and the late Shelby "Jean" Bowman Chapman. She was a graduate of West Iredell High School, class of 1977 and on June 26, 1977, she was married to Dennis Ray Rhyne. She was employed with Intercraft Industries for 14 years, with Legget-Platt for 18 years and more recently was self-employed with Cleaning Time. She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church and in addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Stephanie Kastor Chapman. Trudy enjoyed going to the beach, shopping, hanging out with the grandkids, going to car shows and most of all "Family". She never met a stranger and made other people happy. Trudy is survived by her husband of 40 years, her father, one son, Jason Ray Rhyne (Candace), one daughter, Jodie Rhyne Johnson (Chad), two grandsons, Ryder Levi Rhyne, Jenner Ray Rhyne, one granddaughter, Bayleigh Rae Johnson, one sister, Sandra Chapman Kepley (Gary), one brother, Tommy Ray Chapman, Jr, three nieces, Tara Black (Myron), Scarlett Chapman, Savannah Chapman and two nephews, Samuel Laws and Wesley Beaver. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 22, 2017 at Bethel United Methodist Church with Rev. Naomi King officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Terry Waller, Bubba Bowman, Donnie Pennell, David Fulbright, Justyn Black and Tristan Black. The family will visit with friends following the graveside service in the church fellowship hall.
