Troy Curtiss Nicholson

Mr. Troy Curtiss Nicholson, 87, of Union Grove, passed away, Sunday, July 30, 2017 at his home. Mr. Nicholson was born October 31, 1929 in Yadkin County and was the son of the late Walter C. Nicholson and Viola Lewis Nicholson. He attended Union Grove Schools and was married to the late Dorothy Chatham Nicholson. He worked and retired from Jantzen Sportswear and was a member of Grassy Knob Baptist Church. He is survived by four children, Allen Kent Nicholson (Lavonda) of Statesville, Sue Ann Brinkley (Wayne) of Bakersville, NC, Audie Curtiss Nicholson (Sylvia) of Union Grove, David Edwin Nicholson (Nicole) of Union Grove, 13 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, three brothers, Luther Nicholson, Jesse Nicholson, Hugh Nicholson and three sisters, Betty Lou Millsaps, Lea Elkins and Myrtle Hollar. In addition to wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy Nicholson and six siblings, Lawrence Nicholson, W.C. Nicholson, Swannie Nicholson, Thurmond Nicholson, Dwight Nicholson and Mott Nicholson. Funeral services will be 4:00 p.m. Tuesday August 1, 2017 at Grassy Knob Baptist Church with Rev. Scott Chenevey officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Nicholson will lie in state from 3:00-4:00 p.m. at the church. Nicholson Funeral Home is serving the family of Mr. Troy Nicholson.
