Tony Ray Baggarley

Tony Ray Baggarley, 69, of Statesville, passed away peacefully Sunday March 27, 2016 at his home. Tony was born August 1, 1946 in Statesville to Elva M. Daniels and Charlie A. Baggarley. Tony attended Statesville High School and graduated from Mitchell Community College and UNC Charlotte. He served his country honorably in the Army during the Vietnam War as part of the 518th Military Police Battalion. He has been married to Donna T. Baggarley since March 1, 2000. Tony had an infectious personality with a knack for storytelling and never met a stranger. Tony was preceded in death by two brothers, Danny and Gary, and sister Charlie Faye Gregory. Left to cherish his memories are his sister Elizabeth (Lib) Patterson, her husband Frank and their family. As well as three sons, Anthony S. Baggarley (Julie Chapman) of Statesville, Justin N. Baggarley (Gigi) of Wilmington, Nathan A. Baggarley (Jessica) of Richmond, VA and their mother, Sharon M. Baggarley of Troutman. Tony had one grandson, Dawson Baggarley. Tony is also survived by one step-son, Jon Triplet (Pepper) of Mooresville and children Hayden, Bear, and Chevy and one step-daughter, Dawn Triplet of Statesville and children Trinity and Jada. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Iredell County. A special thanks to Pattie Galvan, Darlene Brown, Kim Burgess and Barbara Jackson who took excellent care of Tony. Also a special thanks to his Hospice team Lamenda Cashion, RN, Latisha Agnew, CNA, Kim Lachina, CNA, Tracey Bell, CNA, Sharon Snow, Chaplain, Brandi Anthony, SW, and too many others to name. He loved them all dearly. Graveside funeral services will be conducted 3:00 PM Thursday, March 31, 2016, in Oakwood Cemetery with Chaplain Sharon Snow officiating. Full military honors will be provided by the Iredell County Veterans Council Burial Detail.
