Tony O'Brien Wise

Mr. Tony O'Brien Wise, 76, of Statesville, passed away Sunday, June 21, 2015 at the Gordon Hospice House. Mr. Wise was born March 6, 1939 in Iredell County and was the son of the late Glenn and Helen Fann Wise. He was a graduate of Troutman High School, class of 1958, served in the U.S. Air Force and on December 31, 1970 was married to Margie Overcash Wise, who survives of the home. He was retired from Dana Corporation and was a member of First ARP Church in Statesville, where he served as a Deacon and Elder. He was an avid Car enthusiast, sports fan, especially UNC Tarheels and loved to play, coach and mentor Softball. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, Kelly Elizabeth Wise of Statesville, Christopher O'Brien Wise (Melanie) of Virginia, Destiny Jade Wise of the home, one brother, Buddy Wise (Mary) of Statesville, one sister, Vicky W. Lancaster (Russell) of Statesville and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be conducted 6:00 p.m. Monday, June 29, 2015 at First ARP Church with Rev. Phillip McCoy officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the Church Fellowship Hall. Memorials may be made to First ARP Church or to Hospice and Palliative Care of Iredell County.
