Thomas Potter

Mr. Thomas Eugene Potter, 70, of Statesville, went to be with the Lord on July 1, 2011 at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center following a lengthy illness. Mr. Potter was born December 2, 1940 in Fanrock, W.V. and was the son of the late Thomas Potter and Mamie Clyburn Potter. He was married to Virginia L. Dalton Potter, who survives of the home. Mr. Potter was a retired coal miner in WV and was later employed with Wiseway Trucking. In addition to his wife, Mr. Potter is also survived by one son, Kevin Potter and wife Sissy of Statesville along with two daughters, Kimberly Kingsley of Welch, WV and Regina Seabolt of Roderfield, WV. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, Kriston Potter of Twin Branch, WV, Brandon Potter and Hannah Potter, both of Statesville, Heather Green and Husband Daniel of Twin Branch, WV., Mamie Kingsley of Twin Branch, WV., April Kingsley of Davy, WV., Renae Seabolt of Davy, WV and Sheena Seabolt of Big Sandy, WV. Mr. Potter is also survived by two sisters, Peggy Hearl and Barbara Potter, both of Twin Branch, WV. He is further survived by five great-grandchildren, four step children, nine step grandchildren, and six step great-grandchildren. Funeral services for Mr. Potter will be conducted 12:00 pm Tuesday, July 5, 2011 in the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Steve Ayers officiating. The family will visit with friends from 11:00 until 12:00 at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Oakwood Cemetery.
