Thomas (Tommy) Michael Fox, 65 of Cleveland, NC died peacefully Thursday, July 25, 2024, at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center in Salisbury. He was born in Iredell County on April 6, 1959, to the late Franklin Delano Fox and Linda Rowe Fox Riddle.
Tommy worked as a glass cutter for 20+ years at O W Slane Glass in Statesville, where his gift of perfection was able to shine. He enjoyed the outdoors, waterskiing, played the drums, and was an avid NASCAR fan. Most of all, he cherished his relationships with friends in the community. He tragically lost his home in 2020 to a fire but was able to build back with help of many in the community who rallied around him.
Then in May of 2023, Tommy was diagnosed with lung cancer. He underwent treatment at Novant Wallace Cancer Institute in Salisbury and was responding well. Unfortunately, after a recent hospital procedure, Tommy caught a serious infection which took his life.
Tommy is survived by Susan Zongker, sister, (husband Randy), of Charlotte, NC, Dennis Fox, brother, of Charlotte, NC, and stepparents, Don (Hoppy) and Barbara (Bobbie) Riddle, of Statesville, NC, and nephews James Fox and Jason Fox.
A Celebration of Life service is planned for August 10, (Sat) at 11:00 at New Hope Baptist Church, 149 New Hope Rd., Statesville, NC, with fellowship following.
Donations can be made to Tommy’s favorite charities: St. Jude Children’s Hospital, or Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
Nicholson Funeral Home is honored to serve the Fox family.
