Thomas Edward Fox

Thomas Edward (Tom) Fox, 69, of Statesville, died Saturday, January 16, 2016 at the Sherrills Ford Hospice House. Born in Iredell County on November 25, 1946, he was a son of the late Stacy Guy Fox and Nina Mitchell Fox. Tom was a member of First Baptist Church and a graduate of C.V.T.I. He was the owner and operator of Fox Marketing Service. He was formerly very involved in the Iredell County Rescue Squad, the Cool Spring Volunteer Fire Department, the Statesville Jaycees, and volunteered for many years with the National Balloon Rally held here in Statesville. He worked with fire service for over 25 years and taught in the fire industry also teaching first aid and first responder classes. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Fox Gilleland. Survivors include his wife, Sylvia (Joy) Wall Fox, a son, Christopher (Chris) Thomas Fox (Gina) of Huntersville, a daughter, Melissa Lynn Fox Withers of Statesville and step sons: Charles (Chad) Abrey Gallyon, III (Kathy) and Johnson (Matthew) Gallyon (Jodi) all of Statesville. Also surviving are 8 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild and a brother-in-law. Neal Gilleland of Statesville. Services celebrating Tom's life will be 4 :00 P.M. Wednesday at Western Avenue Baptist Church with Rev. John Milholland officiating. Private burial will be later in Oakwood Cemetery.
