Terry Mansfield Ball

October 12, 1949 — July 11, 2018

Terry Mansfield Ball, 68, of Statesville, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. Mr. Ball was born in Iredell County on October 12, 1949 and was the son of Geraldine Brotherton Ball and the late Mansfield Ivory Ball.



Terry was a graduate of North Iredell High School and received his bachelor's degree in Accounting from Appalachian State. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and he was employed as a realtor with Lake Norman Realty.



On May 17, 1975 he married Carol Zeimer Ball, who survives.



Terry was a man who loved life. He was very active in MMA, exercising and for six months, taught self-defense. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed the mountains, fishing, hiking and riding four wheelers. Terry was the most loving wonderful husband who was good to everyone. He will be missed by all who knew him.



Along with his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Joey Ball.



In addition to his wife of 43 years, Carol and his mother Geraldine, Terry is survived by two sisters, Laura Campbell (Jim), Audrey Ketchie (Steve) and one brother, Jerry Ball (Doris), all of Statesville. He is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews.



A celebration of life service honoring Terry Ball will be conducted at 12:30 PM Friday, July 13, 2018 in the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel with Harry Hensley, Benny Phifer, and Rick Davis officiating. Burial will follow at 3:00 PM Friday in the Cherry Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, 859 Cherry Grove Church Rd, Moravian Falls, NC 28654. The family will visit with friends from 11:00 am until 12:15 PM at the funeral home.
