Sylvia "Sue" Ann Goble

Sylvia "Sue" Ann Fox Goble, 77, of Statesville, passed away Thursday, November 10, 2016 at the Gordon Hospice House after a period of declining health. She was born on September 4, 1939 in Iredell County to the late Jason and Irene Hobbs Fox. Mrs. Goble attended Cool Spring School and on October 26, 1963 she married the love of her life, Charles (Cody) Goble, who survives. They enjoyed over 53 years of marriage before her passing. There were no children born to this union, but a special niece, Joy Henderson, who was like a daughter to them. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, David Fox. Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Cody; a brother, Paul Fox (Elizabeth) of Fayetteville; two sisters, Mary Frye and Linda Lackey, both of Statesville; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 3:00 pm Monday, November 14, 2016 at the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Roger Crider officiating. Burial will follow in the Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Thad Stikeleather and his sons along with Norman Beatty and Terry Fox. The family will visit with friends at the funeral home prior to the service from 2:00 until 3:00 pm.
