Sylvia Clarise Privette

Sylvia Clarise Beaver Privette, 82, formally of Statesville, passed away Saturday, March 19, 2016 at Acosta-Rua Center for Caring in Jacksonville, Florida. She was born in Long Branch, New Jersey on March 21, 1933 to the late George P. and Sylvia Dorothy Johnston Beaver. Mrs. Privette was a graduate of Long Branch High School and was married to William Lee Privette, Sr. who preceded her in death on November 3, 2004. They enjoyed over 53 years of marriage before his passing. During her career, she was a Bookkeeper for several firms. She was a member of Monticello Baptist Church and had been active in the Eastern Star in Long Branch, N.J. Along with her parents and husband, Bill, she was preceded in death by a son, W. Lee Privette, Jr. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Linda P. Edwards (John) of Jacksonville, FL; three grandsons, Joseph D., Stephen A., and Daniel P. Edwards; a granddaughter, Amanda N. Sears; seven great grandchildren, Dillon, Dalton, Tristan, Sierra, Dharma, Wyatt, and Brent; three brother-in-laws, Frank, Jack, and James Privette; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mrs. Privette will be held 11:00 am Friday, March 25, 2016 at Monticello Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Bobby Henderson officiating. The body will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Iredell Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Thursday evening, March 24, 2016 at Nicholson Funeral Home from 6:00 until 8:00 pm.
