Sybil Mae Trivette

Sybil Mae Welborn Holder Trivette, 73, of Union Grove, passed away Thursday, July 16, 2015 at the Gordon Hospice House following an extended illness. She was born on July 8, 1942 in Iredell County to the late Lawrence Welborn and Ruby Rail Dishman Welborn. Sybil attended Smith Chapel Church and was retired from Bernhardt Furniture Company. She enjoyed playing bingo, shopping, mowing and spending time with her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by an infant son, Michael Wayne Holder and two brothers, Kenneth and Lawrence Welborn. Left to cherish her memory are her husband Rex Dewitt Trivette whom she married on March 13, 1981, a son, Jeffery Wayne Holder (Wanda) of Union Grove, a daughter, Patricia Ann Matthews (Joe Beck) of Newton, grandchildren: Jennifer Brook Jolly (Drew), Brittany Holder, Kayle Holder,and Issac David Mathews, a great grandchild, Lillian Jolly and a great grandchild on the way, who will be named, Silas Rex Jolly. Also surviving are brothers: Lyndon Welborn (Wanda) of Statesville, Alfred Welborn of Winston-Salem, Zeb and Jimmy Welborn both of Union Grove and sisters: Mildred Herbert (Jeff), Rozelle Douglas (Robert) and Irene Allen (Norris) all of Union Grove. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 3:00 P.M. at Zion Baptist Church with Rev. Sam Childs, Rev. Joey Tomlin and Rev. Alan Lunsford officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
