Susan Harris Nielsen

Susan Harris Nielsen, 77 of Statesville died Sunday, April 16, 2023, at her home following a brief illness.

She was born in Marietta, Ohio on February 20, 1946, to the late Paul Harris and Ruth Cottrill Harris. She was also preceded in death by an infant son who died at birth, her husband, Dave Nielsen,four brothers, David Harris, Ron Harris, Richard Harris, Roger Harris, two sisters, Rosemary Treadway, Lenore Schmall, and a granddaughter, Katie.

Susan had worked in customer service and sales in several retail businesses. She loved thrifting at Goodwill and other shops and reading. More than anything else, she loved her family, children, especially being a Mammaw.

Those left to cherish her memory include two daughters, Betty Dozier, Melissa Wingate (Mark), seven grandchildren, Christopher, Donald, Daniel, Cassie, John Joshua, Megan, 17 great-grandchildren, and another on the way, two brothers, Mark Harris (Melissa), Bill Harris, and a sister, Roberta Greathouse.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Sunday, April 23, 2023, at 3:00 pm in the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel. The family will visit with friends following the service.
