Sue Kersch Goeke

Susan Arlene Kersch Goeke, 72, of Statesville, passed away Wednesday, Feb 16 at Iredell Memorial Hospital.

Sue, as she was affectionately known, was born in Philadelphia, PA on Sept 10, 1949 and was the daughter of the late Robert and Margaret Horitzo Kersch.

Sue was a homemaker, and she was married to Dennis Goeke for 40 years prior to her death.

Sue enjoyed being outside. She loved flowers, enjoyed crafting, and the beauty of nature. Sue was an avid fan of the TV series NCIS and would "dare you to turn it!" But most of all, she loved her family.

Along with her parents, she was preceded by a son, Walt Pegram and a brother, Karl Kersch.

In addition to her husband, Dennis, Sue is survived by one daughter, Lindsey Goeke (Keith) and son Dennis Goeke, Jr. four grandchildren, Dennis Fiorentino, Logan Goeke, Emma-Grace Goeke, and Dennis Goeke, III along with one great-grandchild, Isabella Fiorentino. Sue is also survived by two brothers, Bobby Kersch (Wendy) and Billy Kersch and one sister, Peggy Bormonaite.

There will be no services locally, but Sue will be inurned in Philadelphia, PA at a later date.
