Steve Morrison

Roger Steve Morrison, 63, of Statesville, passed away unexpectedly at his residence on Saturday, August 17, 2013. He was born in Iredell County on March 12, 1950 to the late Carrie Isenhour and John Lewis Morrison. Steve attended Scotts High School and was self-employed operating Steve Morrison Concrete Finishing. He attended New Amity ARP Church and Westwood Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Allen Morrison; a daughter, Sherry M. Jones, and a brother, John Junior Morrison. Mr. Morrison is survived by two sons, Johnny Morrison (Tamara) of Statesville and Jeffrey Morrison (Valerie) of Troutman; two granddaughters, Sydney Morrison and Amanda Martin; and two grandsons, Dylan Morrison and Matthew Jones. He is further survived by two brothers, Donald R. Morrison (Margie) of Sylva, NC and Lewis T. Morrison (JoAnn) of Orange Park, Fla.; three sisters, Betty Winecoff of Mooresville, Sue Compton of Troutman, and Cynthia Guy of Stony Point; and one sister-in-law, Patsy Morrison of Statesville. Funeral services for Mr. Morrison will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at New Amity ARP Church with Rev. Mike Hyde and Rev. Chris Parnell officiating. Burial will follow in the New Amity ARP Cemetery. The family will receive friends after the service and at other times they will assemble at the home of Johnny Morrison on Scotts Creek Road.
