Mr. Stephen Webster Fink, 67, of Statesville, passed away Tuesday, May 13, 2014, in Duke Raleigh Hospital following a brief illness. Steve was born in Concord, NC on September 27, 1946, and he was the son of the late Paul and Ruth Fink. He was a graduate of Statesville High School's class of 1966, and he attended Alverson Draughan Business College. Steve was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany. He received his honorable discharge in 1970, following three years of service. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Statesville. Steve retired in 2012 from Glastron Boats where he worked as a regional sales manager. He was also co owner of Adams Sporting Goods in the 70's. Steve had a passion for his work and cars. He was involved in the Ford Owners' Association of the Carolinas and the Mustang Muscle Auto Club. He was loved by his family and friends. He enjoyed coming to Raleigh to stay with his grandkids during their breaks from school and attend their many sporting events. Left to cherish his memory is his daughter, Tina Fink Leischner and her husband Stephen, one grandson, Zachary Paul Leischner and one granddaughter, Peyton Leischner, all of Raleigh, NC. He is also survived by one brother, Alan Fink and his wife Theresa and two nieces, Morgan Fink and Sara Fink along with one aunt, Mac Lorch and two cousins, Terry Lorch and Larry Fink. A memorial service celebrating the life of Steve Fink will be conducted 3:00 PM Saturday, May 17, 2014, in the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Duke Liver Research Fund, Duke University Medical Center, P.O. Box 3913, Durham, NC 27710, Attn: Andrew Muir, MD.
