Mrs. Stephanie Leigh Kastor Chapman, 49, of Statesville, passed away, Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at the Gordon Hospice House. Stephanie was born March 18, 1967 in Iredell County and was the daughter of Robert "Bob" Eugene Kastor and Sharon Pope Kastor of Statesville. She was a graduate of West Iredell High School and received her BS in Education from Western Carolina University. While at Western Carolina University, she was on the dance team and was a member of the Sigma Kappa Sorority. On July 18, 1992, she was married to Tommy Ray Chapman, Jr, who survives of the home. Stephanie was a member of Mt. Hermon Lutheran Church, was a teacher, having taught in Iredell County, Catawba County, Davie County and lastly at Statesville Christian School. She loved teaching and especially following all of her kids accomplishments over the years. She loved people, Statesville Christian School and her beach trips/ shopping with her girls. In addition to her parents and husband, she is survived by two daughters, Scarlett Sharon Chapman of Statesville, Savannah Ann Chapman of Statesville, one brother, James Bradley Kastor (Wendy) of Statesville, two nieces, Taylor and Olivia Kastor, father-in-law, Tommy Chapman, Sr. (Janet), two sisters-in-law, Sandra Kepley (Gary), Trudy Rhyne (Dennis) and her beloved dog, Bella Ann along with numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted 4:00 p.m. Friday, June 10, 2016 at Western Avenue Baptist Church with Pastor Thomas W. Corbell, Pastor Andy Lackey and Pastor Gene Bruce officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Hermon Lutheran Church Cemetery. The family will visit with friends on Friday from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at Western Avenue Baptist Church. Active pallbearers will be Baron Brown, Gus Brown, Patrick Pope, Chris Pope, Ron Sigmon, Brennan Sigmon, Bryan Kastor and Jason Rhyne. Honorary pallbearers will be former and current teachers and staff at Statesville Christian School. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Iredell County, Statesville Christian School and the Building Fund at Mt. Hermon Lutheran Church.
