Stephanie Brooks

Stephanie Michelle Rector Brooks, 36, of Statesville passed away on Sunday, November 3, 2013. Stephanie was born on November 12, 1976 in Charleston, SC to her parents Jane Creedmore Frederick and the late Steve Rector. A member of Hebron Baptist Church, she attended North Iredell High School and was later married to Telly Quinn Brooks in August 2004. With a loving heart, and incredibly witty sense of humor, she was fiercely independent and always a "daddy's girl". Her compassion for others, her love for life and her spirit of adventure will never be forgotten. In addition to her father, Mrs. Brooks was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Ralph Austin Creedmore, her paternal grandmother, Christine Barbee, and a step-sister, Julie Kowalski. Along with her husband, Telly Brooks, and her mother, Jane C. Frederick and husband Jim, she is survived by a son, Jeremy Austin Poole of Olin, a daughter, Sheridan Grace Brooks of Statesville, a brother, Stephen Wayne Rector, Jr. (Mandy) of Maiden, and a sister, Christy Rector Georgeson (Ray) of Statesville, a step-brother, Howard Frederick (Leigh) of Statesville, and a step-sister, Denise Diedering (Lonnie) of Dallas, TX. She is also survived by her maternal grandmother, Ruth Creedmore of Statesville. She is further survived by one uncle, Norman Creedmore (Peggy) of Statesville, four aunts, Barbara Williams (Alan) of Olin, Brenda Vinson of Clemmons, Amy Snow and Yvonne Barbee, both of Statesville and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services for Stephanie will be conducted at 2:00 pm Thursday, November 7, 2013 in the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Stephen Rector, Jr. officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 at the funeral home. There will be a private graveside service for the family immediately following the funeral service. Pallbearers for Mrs. Brooks are Jeremy Poole, Adam Prevette, Luke Prevette, Christopher Georgeson, Michael Williams, Reece Williams, Ryan Williams and Nikolas Frederick. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a scholarship fund for the children of Mrs. Brooks.
