Stella Mae Campbell

August 14, 1923 — June 30, 2016

Stella Mae Wiles Campbell, 92, passed away Thursday, June 30, 2016 at her daughter's residence. She was born on August 18, 1923 in Iredell County to the late John Claude and Percy Mae Renegar Wiles.

Mrs. Campbell was a graduate of Harmony High School Class of 1941 and married Ernest Campbell on December 20, 1947. He preceded her in death on February 23, 2015 after 67 years of marriage. She retired from Jantzen in 1985 after 25 years of service. Mrs. Campbell was a member of Christ Boulevard United Methodist Church and loved her church.

Along with her parents and husband, Ernest, she was also preceded in death by a son, Kenny Wiles Campbell; a sister, Sallie Wiles Ray; and two brothers, Franklin Grant Wiles and John Parks Wiles.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Olivia "Libby" C. Welborn (Eddie) of Statesville; five granddaughters, Lesley W. Ketchie (Richard) of Statesville, Heather W. Thomas (Brian) of Statesville, Lisa Welborn of Statesville, Kimberly Campbell Hutton of Dupont, Wash., and Lori Campbell Hamilton (Tom) of West Virginia; eight great grandchildren; two sisters, Betty Willes Campbell of Harmony and Claudine Wiles Adams (Jerry) of Hamptonville; a brother, William Wesley Wiles of Concord; her very dear friend, Helen Tevepaugh; as well as her wonderful neighbors, especially Sean Ikard.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Saturday, July 2, 2016 at Christ Boulevard United Methodist Church with Rev. Larry Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in the Iredell Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will visit with friends at the church prior to the service from 10:00 until 11:00 am. Pallbearers will be Brian Thomas, Zach Thomas, Richard Ketchie, Jeff Campbell, Keith Adams, and Darin Adams. Honorary pallbearers will be Chandler Thomas, Sean IKard, Cole Hutton, Tom Hamilton, and Steve Wooten.

A special thank you to all the nurses and CNAs on the third floor at Iredell Memorial Hospital and we cannot give enough thanks to the wonderful nurses and staff of Hospice of Iredell.
