Starr Simmerman

Starr Jones Simmerman, 57, of Statesville, passed away Sunday, July 3, 2011 at Brian Center in Statesville. Mrs. Simmerman was born June 15, 1954 in Iredell County and was the daughter of the late Carl Jones and Lorianetta Moore Jones. She was a graduate of North Iredell High School and she was a member of Faith Baptist Church. Mrs. Jones was married to John Simmerman, III, who preceded her in death on June 6, 2011. Mrs. Simmerman was a teacher's aide at Cool Springs School and was also a self employed insurance agent. Mrs. Simmerman is survived by a son, John Simmerman, IV, (Leslie) of Statesville, one brother, Allen Jones (Sue) of Harmony, two nephews, Al Jones of Harmony and Mark Simmerman of Statesville. She is also survived by five nieces, Carrie Etzkorn and Carla Beaver of Statesville, Amanda Sharpe of Harmony, Elisha Clark of Mooresville, and Claire Simmerman of Myrtle Beach, S.C. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 am Thursday, July 7, 2011 at Faith Baptist Church with Rev. Daniel Crawley officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
