Sonia Kristina Mcauley

Our hearts are broken as we announce the passing of Sonia on June 19, 2017 after a courageous battle with brain cancer. She was a loving, devoted mother to Michael and Logan McAuley. She was a cherished daughter of Roswitha and the late Karol Kick, dear sister of Peter (Arlene) and Harold (Denise) Kick, adored by her nieces Lauren and Emily. Sonia is also survived by her beloved and caring partner, Richard Tabano, former spouse Robert McAuley and many endearing friends and family. A graduate of Mineols High School, SUNY Oneonta and CW Post, Sonia retired from the Diocese of Queens after 21 years as a Regional Coordinator for the Diocese of Brooklyn. Vibrant, articulate and beautiful, Sonia will be deeply missed and never forgotten. A celebration of her life will be held at 4:00 P.M. Sunday, June 25th at the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Dieter Punt officiating. The family will speak with friends following the service.
