Sheryl passed away Monday, June 22, 2015 at the Gordon Hospice House in Statesville after a brave battle with metastatic cancer beginning in 2004. Sheryl was born January 14, 1962 in Fort Campbell, Kentucky. She attended schools in Buchanan and Galien, Michigan. When she was little, she loved her Brownie troop and taking ballet lessons. She was an awesome softball player in her teens. Her first job was at a Tastee Freeze in Three Oaks, Michigan. After high school, she worked for Clark Credit Corporation in Burnsville, Minnesota. In addition to her parents, Orie and Sharron Krieger of Union Grove, NC, she is survived by her ex-husband, William (Skip) Peckham of Statesville. She is survived by a daughter, Kelsey Lynn Peckham, and a nephew, Matthew Brock Krieger of the home. She leaves behind two brothers, Tony, of Bremen, Indiana and Tim of Statesville along with many aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was employed at Social Services in Statesville, NC for 25 years as a fraud investigator. She had many dear friends there who took turns being by her side and who she loved very much. They kept her smiling and happy when things were the bleakest. We thank you so much for helping Sheryl and being true friends. Thank you also goes to Gordon Hospice House for the loving and compassionate care you gave Sheryl. Services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Thursday at Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel in Statesville with the Rev. Carl Williams officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home one hour prior to the funeral hour from 2:00 to 3:00, and the family will also speak to friends following the service. Cremation will take place and there will be no graveside service. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Kelsey Peckham and Matthew Krieger, 311 Fletcher Road, Union Grove, NC 28689.
