Sherry Shook

Sherry Lee Privette Shook, 57, of Statesville, passed away at Iredell Memorial Hospital on March 11, 2013. She was born on March 25, 1955 to Bidful Privette, who survives and the late Bobbie Faye Cowart Privette Bullard. Sherry graduated from South Iredell High School and received her degree in child care from Mitchell College. On August 23, 1973, she married David Wayne Shook. She was self-employed as a day care operator until her health declined. She was a member of South River Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Shook is also survived by two sons, Kenneth Shook (Nicole) of Statesville and Christopher Shook of Asheboro; one granddaughter, Carmen Shook along with two grandsons, Dylan and Dregan Shook, all of Statesville. She is further survived by two brothers and two sisters. Funeral services for Mrs. Shook will be conducted 11:00 am Friday, March 15, 2013 at South River Baptist Church with Pastor Larry Whicker officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will visit with friends Thursday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Nicholson Funeral Home.
