Sherri Stout Owens

Sherri Denise Stout Owens, 60, of Statesville died unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 10, 2023, at Iredell Memorial Hospital.

She was born in Iredell County on September 20, 1962, to the late Garland E. Stout and Hattie Mae Benfield Stout. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Leroy Owens, II, a brother, George Stout and a sister, Mary Ann Hartness.

During her career, she had several jobs including sewing hot air balloons. She loved to garden, tend her flowers, sew, and color.

Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, Jonas Nathaniel Campbell (Angelina), Jesse Wayne Owens (Lindsay), Gary Wayne Owens, and Wayne Wayne aka Wayne Leroy Owens III, five grandchildren, Gentry Gibson, Jackson Owens, Ethan Day, Carson Paul, Stella Moribito, and siblings, Benny Stout, Donna Poplin (TC), Garnet McNeely (Monty), Beulah Brewer, and other family members.

A Gathering of Friends will be held Friday, January 20, 2022, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, at Nicholson Funeral Home.
