Shelvie Jean Blansett

Shelvie Jean England Blansett, 75 of Statesville, died Friday, January 10, 2025, at her home following an illness.

She was born in Welch, West Virginia on July 29, 1949, to the late Lacy Garrett England and Gladys Benge.

Shelvie enjoyed working and keeping busy. Some of her jobs through the years include owning and operating B&M Cleaning Service, Beauty Maid Mills, being a hairdresser, and working for the schools. She also attended Mitchell Community College where she earned her degree in Criminal Law and Justice. She was of the Baptist faith. More than anything, she loved her family.

Those left to cherish her memory include two sons, Bryan Blansett and James Blansett, Jr., and three sisters, Deb, Delores, and Beulah, along with several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
