It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Sharon Duke Trent (Sharon Lee Duke 2024, passed away on July 9, 2024 (Mooresville, North Carolina), at the age of 65.
She was born October 10, 1958, in Statesville NC to the late Clyde Jr Duke and Rachel Gregory Duke. She was also processed in death by her late husband Jakie Trent of Statesville NC. Her two brothers Michael Duke & Rodney Duke and baby sister Norma Campbell. The bond Sharon shared with her siblings was incredibly special. She treasured her relationships with her sisters, and brothers meant the world to Sharon, and she held a deep connection with her parents, Clyde and Rachel.
She leaves behind only child Jamie Lea Bunton (Glenn) of Statesville NC. Her much-loved Grandchildren, Dakota Duke of Statesville NC, Granddaughter Elizabeth Jones of Charlotte NC, and Great-grandchildren Alex Jones Kylo Jones and great-granddaughter Cashleigh Jones. As a mother, she showered with love and care, and as a grandmother, she embraced her role with joy and devotion for Dakota Duke of Statesville NC and Elizabeth Jones of Charlotte NC. Her love extended even further as she became a great-grandmother to Alex, Kylo, and Cashleigh Jones. As well as Sister Barbara Puckett of Statesville, Betty Yates of Statesville NC and brother Ronnie Duke of Lake Norman NC along with several nephews and nieces. Sharon's love extended to her late husband Jakie Trent of Statesville NC. She had a wide circle of loved ones, including nieces and nephews who adored her. Her Ex-husband James Moore with whom she had her only child Jamie Lea Bunton, and her stepdaughter Jennifer Mosteller Throughout her life, Sharon had two best friends who were like family to her. Brenda, her childhood best friend, and Elda, Jamie's godmother and close friend for over 40 years, were always there for her. Nicole, her close friend and caregiver, provided unwavering support and friendship through thick and thin.
One of Sharon's most remarkable qualities was her ability to make everyone feel welcome. Her genuine warmth made strangers feel like old friends, and she always opened her home with open arms. Sharon's passion for cooking delicious meals and creating a warm and inviting atmosphere made gatherings with friends and family truly memorable.
Sharon had an impeccable eye for detail and took great pride in maintaining a clean and beautifully decorated home. She had a talent for creating a space that was not only aesthetically pleasing but also comfortable and inviting, reflecting her unique style.
Sharon's legacy lives on through the cherished memories she created with her loved ones. She will forever be remembered as a loving mother, devoted grandmother, and a friend to all. Her open-heartedness, meticulousness, and passion for creating a welcoming home will continue to inspire those fortunate enough to have known her.
A memorial service will be held later date. Leave a sympathy message, donations, flowers to the family on the memorial page of Sharon Duke (Sharon Lee Duke) Trent to pay them a last tribute. Though Sharon has departed this earthly realm, her legacy endures — a legacy of love that will continue to illuminate the lives of family and friends in the darkest of hours.
