Mrs. Sarah Lee Campbell Loyd, 90, of Statesville, passed away Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at the Gordon Hospice House. Mrs. Loyd was born February 17, 1927 in Iredell County to the late Richard Martin Campbell and Johnsie Martha Campbell. She was a graduate of Central High School and on October 29, 1949, she was married to the late Robert "R.C." Loyd, who died in 2006. She was a member of New Prospect Baptist Church and was retired from Hunt Manufacturing. She is survived by one daughter, Martha "Kaye" Henderson and husband, Gary Paul Henderson of Statesville; four grandchildren, Johanna Ashley (Craig), Khristy Boring (Mike), Keri Pharr (Jay), Corey Henderson; eight great grandchildren, AJ Dishman (Tracie), Brady Dishman, Matthew Miller, Mikayle Miller, Garin Mash, Jasmine Henderson, Lily Mohler, Hannah Pharr and three great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four siblings and one great great grandson. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday at New Prospect Baptist Church with Rev. Josh Byrd and Rev. Joey Campbell officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will visit with friends Thursday evening 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Nicholson Funeral Home and at other times at the Loyd residence. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Gordon Hospice House or New Prospect Baptist Church and online condolences may be made to the family at www.nicholsonfunerals.com The family would like to give a special thanks to Tonia Lassiter for her loving care.
