Sarah Catherine Johnson

Miss Sarah Catherine Johnson, age 84, of Harmony passed away Thursday, September 16, 2021 at The Villages of Wilkes Rehab.

She was born March 3, 1937 in Iredell County, North Carolina the daughter of the late Reuben Washington Johnson and Grace Mae Cash Johnson. She is also preceded in death by her brothers, Rex Eugene Johnson, Benjamin Franklin Johnson, James Clay Johnson, Richard Jonathan Johnson, Ruben Washington Johnson Jr. and Paul Garnett Johnson; and sisters, Mary Elizabeth Johnson Mullis, Ida Helen Johnson Baugus and Patty Sue Johnson.

She attended Union Grove and North Elkin Schools. Miss Johnson was retired from Blackwelder Manufacturing Company and Yadkin Nursing Care. She was a devoted member of Winthrop Friends Church and loved to study her Bible. Sarah enjoyed gardening, crafts and children, though she never had any children of her own, she had numerous loving nieces and nephews who compassionately cared for her over the years. She took care of her nieces and nephews when they were younger.

She is survived by her sisters-in-law, Carolyn Johnson and Geraldine Johnson; and many loving nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held 3 PM Sunday, September 19, 2021 at Winthrop Friends Meeting Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. A graveside service will be held 1 PM Wednesday , September 22, 2021 Iredell Memorial Gardens.
