Sandy Lee Moose

Sandy Moose, 57, of Statesville passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, January 6, 2024, at her home.

She was born January 17, 1966, to the late Dwight J. Moore and Peggy Moore Gaines. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James “Butch” Moose.

Sandy loved the outdoors and going fishing. More than anything in the world, she loved being a grandmother and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by two daughters, Shanna Elmore (Scott) and Genie Holleman, both of Statesville, a stepdaughter, Jessica Moose, of Statesville, eight grandchildren, and several step-grandchildren, two brothers, Joe Meredith, of Olin, Johnnie Moore (Peggy) of Statesville, a sister, Lisa Moore Sainz (Pat), of Denning, New Mexico, five nieces, and four nephews.

A private memorial will be held at a later date.
