Sandra Kay Gettys

Sandra Kay Cooke Gettys, 62, of Statesville, died Thursday, May 28, 2015 at the Gordon Hospice House. Born in Iredell County on October 21, 1952, she was a daughter of the late Walter Cook and Edith Shoemaker Cook. She was retired from Taurus Textiles and enjoyed flower gardening. Survivors include a son, Brandon Gettys of the home, her companion of 20 plus years, Wayne Rimmer, and two brothers, Tony Cook of Troutman and Ronnie Cook of Statesville. Graveside services are scheduled for 11:00 AM Saturday at Oakwood Cemetery with Rev. Thomas Sherrod officiating. The family will speak with friends immediately following the services.
