Sandra Decker Hayden

Mrs. Sandra Wegene Decker Hayden, 78, of Statesville, died Friday, January 30, 2015 at the home of her daughter. Born on July 17, 1936 in Walkertown, Indiana, she was a daughter of the late Howard Decker and Helen Marcile Ruby Decker. Mrs. Hayden graduated from Walkertown High School. She was retired from the U. S. Postal Service in Niles, Michigan after 37 years of service and she attended Fern Hill Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Hayden and two great grandchildren. Survivors include two sons, Jeffrey Hayden of Elkhard, Indiana and Timothy Allen Hayden of Niles, Michigan and two daughters, Debra Valhostra of Niles, Michigan and Tonya Marie Moose (J.W.) of Statesville. Also surviving are 9 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and there were three brothers and one sister. Services celebrating Mrs. Hayden's life will be conducted at 6:00 P.M. Monday, February 2, 2015 at the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jesse Stroud officiating. The family will visit with friends from 5:00 until 6:00 prior to the service.
