Sally Jayne Matthews Mckenna

Sally Jayne Matthews McKenna, 78, of Statesville, died Wednesday, January 15, 2020 at Chatham Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Elkin. Born in Iredell County on June 10, 1941, she was a daughter of the late Howard B. Matthews and Addie Lutell Templeton Matthews. She enjoyed dogs and crossword puzzles and was retired from the textile industry.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Harold and Roger Matthews, a daughter, Shene McKenna and a niece, Melissa Matthews.

Survivors include two sisters, Luanna Trivette of Jonesville and Dorothy Howard of Hamptonville along with several nieces and nephews including a niece, Bonnie Matthews.

Services celebrating her life will be conducted at 1:30 Sunday, February 9, 2020 at Maple Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Brett Graham officiating. The family will greet friends following the service. Private burial will follow at a later date.
