Sallie Foard

Sallie Dillard Foard, 75, of Statesville, passed away Thursday, August 16, 2012 at CMC Mercy in Charlotte. She was born September 10, 1936 in Ashe County and was the daughter of the late Bill Dillard and Carrie Miller Dillard. Mrs. Foard attended Ashe County Schools and she owned and operated Foard's Upholstry. She was married to James Houston Foard who preceded her in death in 1982. She thoroughly enjoyed crocheting, sewing and spending as much time as possible with her family that she adored dearly. She was an amazing woman who was a faithful and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. In addition to her parents and husband she was also preceded in death by five brothers, Garfield Dillard, Carl Dillard, Johnson Dillard, Jessie Dean Dillard and Claude Allen Dillard, one sister Edna McNeill and in 2012 she was preceded in death by a beloved daughter Rebecca Helms. She is survived by three daughters, Linda Crider (Steve), Barbara Haithcox (Randy) and Jeanine Deal (Mike), and one son James Houston Foard (Diane), all of Statesville. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, David and Matt Norris, Michael, Adam and Albert Deal, Ethan and Erin Haithcox, Angel and Josh Campbell and one great grandson Jaxon Norris. She is further survived by two brothers Tom Dillard (Sue) and Wade Dillard (Dorothy) and two sisters, Ethel Miller and Agnes Johnson. A graveside service will be conducted at 3:00 PM Saturday, August 18, 2012 at the Dillard Family Cemetery in Ashe County with Elder James McNeill officiating. The family will receive friends Friday evening August 17, 2012 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Nicholson Funeral Home.
