Ruth Little Lentz

January 20, 1922 — July 18, 2015

Mrs. Ruth Little Lentz, 93, of Statesville went to be with her heavenly Father on Saturday, July 18, 2015 at her home. She was born January 20, 1922 in Alexander County to the late Charlie O. Little and Bessie Warren Little. Ruth was a homemaker and worked with her husband on their poultry farm. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She enjoyed camping, gardening and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of Fairmount United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy F. Lentz, Sr., two brothers, George and Paul Little, a sister, Laura Payne and a grandson, Michael Lentz. She is survived by two sons, Roy Lentz, Jr. and his wife, Barbara and Keith Lentz and his wife, Teresa, all of Statesville, a sister, Margaret Stikeleather of Taylorsville. Also surviving are two grandsons, Jarrid Lentz and his wife, Jeanie and Jason Lentz and his wife, Nichole along with four great grandchildren, Tanner, Ashton, Addison and Peyton Lentz. Additional survivors include several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 4:00 P.M. Tuesday at Fairmount United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Joe Dellinger officiating. The family will receive friends Monday evening at Nicholson Funeral Home from 7:00 until 9:00 P.M. Condolences may be sent online to the family to www.nicholsonfunerals.com. Memorials may be given to Fairmount United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, C/O Archie Lundy, 184 Lundy Rd., Statesville, N.C. 28625.
