Ruia Lilly Jordan

Ruia Lilly Mayberry Jordan, 98, of Statesville, passed away Friday, July 06, 2018 at the Brian Nursing Center. She was born in Alexander County on May 4, 1920 to the late William Gordon Mayberry and Lona Query Mayberry.



Mrs. Jordan was a graduate of Union Grove High School and was married to Fred Lankford Jordan who preceded her in death. She was a faithful member of New Prospect Baptist Church. Ruia was a great seamstress, wonderful cook, and a great gardener. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend who will be missed by all who knew her.



Along with her parents and husband, Lankford, she was preceded in death by brothers, Paul and Howard Mayberry; and sisters, Dorene Trout, Eva Lou Rupard, and Jean Goforth.



Left to cherish her memory are two sons, Dennis Jordan (Janet) of Statesville and Ned Jordan (Bonnie) of Union Grove, a daughter, Sandra J. Mitchell (Jerry) of Statesville; two granddaughters, Janna J. Summers and Christie J. Stout (Brian); a grandson, Scott Jordan; a great granddaughter, Jadyn Summers; four great grandsons, Gavin Summers, Jett Jordan, Will and Ethan Gandy; and one brother, Jack Mayberry.



Funeral Services will be held 11:00 am Monday, July 9, 2018 at New Prospect Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will visit with friends Sunday evening at New Prospect Baptist Church from 6;00 until 8:00 pm.
