Ruby Ellen Hall

Ruby Ellen Ferguson Hall, of Statesville, passed away on Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at Brookdale Senior Living.



She was born on June 27, 1919 in Charlotte, NC, and was the daughter of the late William C. and Mamie Spencer Ferguson. Ruby was a member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church, and was previously an active member of Race Street Methodist Church where she taught Sunday school, was active on the Church Council, and sang in the choir.



Ruby attended Statesville City Schools and was a graduate of Montreat College, class of 1938. She was retired from the J.C. Penny Warehouse. After marriage to Frank Aubrey Hall, she was blessed with two sons, Martin and Dennis.



In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank in 1991; her son, Dennis; two sisters: Betty Gaither and Lee Suther; and her brother, Victor Ferguson.



Surviving is her son Martin Ray Hall and wife Shirley of Mooresville; a daughter-in-law, Angie Hall of Winterville, GA; a former daughter-in-law, Patricia Mary Hall of Columbia, SC.; four grandchildren, Martin Brett Hall and Tina Jane Hall, both of Columbia, SC, Brandon Hall of Athens, GA and Scott Hall of North Carolina; and four great grandchildren.



Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00pm on Sunday, February 18, 2018 at Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church with Reverend Chris Fitzgerald officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery with her being laid to rest beside her husband, Frank. The family will visit with friends in the church parlor prior to the service from 2:00 until 3:00 pm. Mrs. Hall will lie in state at Nicholson Funeral Home on Saturday from 1:00 until 6:00 pm and Sunday from 9:00 am until 1:00 pm.
